Dry Eye Treatment Device ‘NURIEYE-5800’
Seodong Medical (CEO Kim Chang-on) announced its participation in the ‘AIR FAIR 2022 (International Air Industry Exhibition)’, which will be held at COEX from December 15th (Thursday) to 17th (Saturday) for three days.
Seodong Medical has been developing and manufacturing medical devices for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. According to the company, it has garnered praise from domestic and international customers over a long period since its establishment in 1996, based on the credibility it has accumulated in the related industry.
Their flagship product, ‘NURIEYE-5800′, has undergone clinical trials with 144 dry eye patients at two government-designated university hospital clinical trial centers, having received approval from the Korean government for clinical trials. Through this, the safety and efficacy of the product were verified, and a paper was published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology in January 2014. Subsequently, in November 2014, the results of safety and efficacy evaluation of new medical technology were announced, and it has been utilized in non-reimbursable treatments at ophthalmic hospitals nationwide since July 2016.
The NURIEYE-5800 is a product designed to address the root causes of dry eye syndrome, utilizing vibration and air pressure massage functions to ensure proper circulation of nerves, blood vessels, and tears around the eyes. It offers 15 types of vibration massages, 5 levels of air pressure massages, and hot/cold thermal massages for 15 minutes to dissolve residues in the eyes and melt the secretion around the Meibomian glands inside the eyelids, facilitating the circulation of clean tears. Additionally, it effectively treats eye-related diseases such as cataracts or glaucoma.
Moreover, it boasts excellent user convenience, allowing for simple activation of the automatic mode with just one On/Off button on the controller, and displaying operation-related information on the LCD display. Furthermore, it supports both Korean and English language settings, and users can easily set the operating time according to their preference.
A Seodong Medical representative stated, “The NURIEYE-5800 is a dry eye treatment medical device that has been proven for efficacy and safety by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea and has garnered high satisfaction among actual customers, acknowledging our comprehensive technological capabilities. However, due to the nature of medical devices, there have been limitations in exports. Through this exhibition, we aim to showcase our products to domestic and international buyers for experience, paving the way for overseas market expansion.”
Furthermore, they added, “We are also preparing a new product as a fusion multifunctional massager that helps with facial muscle exercise and management in Miracle Beauty Care, Healthcare, and Healing Care product lines. This product, which can be easily operated with just one automatic button for vibration massage and air pressure massage, will contribute to self-beauty care services for people of all ages.”
Meanwhile, AIR FAIR 2022 is organized by the Korea Air Purification Association and K-Fairs, with sponsorship from the Ministry of Environment, the Korea Facilities Engineering Association, the Korean Indoor Environment Association, the Korean Society for Atmospheric Environment, the Korean Society for Aerosol Science, the Korean Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers, the Citizens’ Coalition for Rights-Based Urban Policy, and the Environmental Daily. The main exhibition items include: Green Appliances, Fine Dust Reduction and Pollution Removal Systems, Measurement and Measurement, Carbon Zero Systems, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Heating and Cooling, Fine Dust Management Products, Eco-Friendly Cars, and Disinfection Supplies and Equipment.
