Seodong Medical presents dry eye treatment devices such as ‘NURIEYE-5800’ at the 2023 Intercharm Korea…

Seodong Medical (CEO Kim Chang-on) announced that it participated in ‘2023 InterCHARM Korea’, held at COEX in Seoul from August 30 (Wednesday) to September 1 (Friday) for a total of 3 days.

Seodong Medical is a domestic company that stands out in the field of medical devices for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. According to the company, it has received favorable reviews in domestic and international markets based on the credibility accumulated over a long period since its establishment in 1996.

Their flagship product, ‘NURIEYE-5800’, has received approval for clinical trials from the Korean government and has been proven for its performance and reliability through clinical trials with 144 dry eye patients conducted at two government-designated university hospitals. Additionally, a related paper was published in the January 2014 issue of the British Journal of Ophthalmology, and in the same year, the safety and efficacy evaluation results of the new medical technology were announced, allowing its use in non-reimbursable treatments at ophthalmic hospitals nationwide since July 2016.

At this exhibition, Seodong Medical also showcased its range of dry eye treatment devices, including its flagship product, the NURIEYE-5800. The NURIEYE-5800 was highlighted as a product designed to address the root causes of dry eye syndrome, which occur when the muscles around the eyes stiffen, leading to poor circulation of nerves, blood vessels, and tears.

The NURIEYE-5800 features 15 vibration massages, 5 levels of air pressure massage, and hot/cold thermal massages, which run for 15 minutes to dissolve residues in the eyes and melt the fat secretion around the Meibomian glands inside the eyelids. This helps facilitate the circulation of clean tears and, furthermore, aids in the prevention of eye-related diseases such as cataracts or glaucoma.

It also incorporates features to enhance user convenience. With a single On/Off integrated button, users can easily activate the automatic mode, and intuitive operation information is displayed on the LCD display. Furthermore, it supports both Korean and English language settings, and users can also set their own operating times as desired.

Seodong Medical stated, “The NURIEYE-5800 is a dry eye treatment medical device verified for efficacy and safety by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Through this InterCHARM Korea exhibition, we aimed to introduce its excellence to domestic and international buyers and explore opportunities for overseas expansion.”

They continued, “Additionally, we are proactively promoting our multifunctional facial massager, ‘NURIEYE-2U,’ which will be launched soon, to accelerate its market penetration. This all-in-one product, which can be comfortably worn, is expected to be highly popular for effectively managing the face and eyes, keeping them clear and soft.”

Meanwhile, ‘Intercharm Korea’ is a global beauty and cosmetics specialized exhibition, attracting over 3,000 overseas buyers from about 50 countries annually. Through the discovery of overseas buyers with purchasing power and the invitation of key players in potential markets, it has established itself as a diverse business platform in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
